This will be a workshop for hobbyist to professional that speaks directly to the many facets of running your own small business. Every business has to have a team for: Sales, Product Development, Publicity, Administration, and Accounting. As a sole proprietor, you are ALL of those teams. What are some effective ways to get yourself out there? Where can you find leads? How do you run a business? What are the basics of sales (the assumptive close, open-ended questions, etc.), how is billing done? What are my goals for my business? Where would I like to be one year from now? In this workshop, we will address very specific issues built into two simple ideas: Set up and Follow Through. the talk will be for about 50 minutes, covering each facet for about 10 minutes each. After a short break, we will have about 15 minutes of open discussion of "best practices" in specific business channels and closing with questions and goal setting.
