This workshop is a demonstration of steps in the creation of marionette bodies and joints. Participants will gain a working understanding of the process for creating patterns for marionette bodies and joints.
Jim Rose was born into puppetry with his parents Rufus and Margo Rose. He worked with their shows from the age of ten. He really got the puppet bug in 1946 when the Puppeteers of America held its first post-world- war-two festival in his Waterford, Connecticut home. At the age of 14 began performing his own hand puppet show, Princess Morning.

Throughout high school and college he was very active in theater. He was graduated from the Yale School of Drama with an MFA degree in 1963.

Jim has taught at grade and high schools and in the Theater Department of Antioch College where he was an alumnus. More recently he and his wife, Judy have made occasional trips to perform Punch and Judy shows and to do workshops at numerous puppetry conferences and festivals.
