This workshop provides different simple ways to find the right voices needed for a show. Borrowing concepts from the visual arts including texture, line and contrast, there are vocal games or exercises that provide a way of thinking about voice performance. By the end of the workshop the participants are giving voices to an entire gallery of great paintings! The participants will discover they are capable of doing many more puppet voices than they thought possible. More importantly, they will learn a simple playful way to develop characterizations. (Shh.. don't tell anyone: In the the last part of this workshop, participants will be ACTING!)
Steve's passion for puppets and theatre goes back to high school. He  performs  mostly for schools, libraries and museums. Steve is a past president of Puppeteers of America, and serves as associate editor of Puppetry Journal. He served as the North  American editor of the World Encyclopedia of Puppetry Arts.
