NPF: Black Light Puppet Shows

Learn to create curriculum based black light puppet shows that are sure to be hired! Jean will share the back stage secrets of her one person shows: The Science Black Light Puppet Show (grades PK - 5) and The Friendship, or Taming Bullies, Black Light Puppet Show (grades PK - 3). Explore black light puppet construction, staging, lighting and sound. Participants are invited to perform short segments from the shows behind the black light stage, with back stage direction from Jean.

Jean Kuecher, puppeteer and producer of the Marionette Playhouse, has delighted audiences with marionette, hand puppet and black light puppetry performances. Jean performs for schools, libraries, birthday parties, churches and corporate events, and is a performing and teaching artist with Young Audiences of Texas. Jean Kuecher, MEd, is a Registered Trainer with the Texas Early Care and Education Career Development System. She is a charter member of the Greater Houston Puppetry Guild. Jean is the director of the annual Houston Puppetry Festival, providing quality performances and workshops for teachers, librarians, and puppetry enthusiasts. Jean trained with and worked for George and Lucille Cole of Cole Marionettes.
