Description:
Go behind-the-scenes at the Center for Puppetry Arts in this special workshop tour for the Puppeteers of America National Festival. Attendees will get an up-close look at the Center's Scenic and Puppet Workshops, our climate-controlled Museum Storage, our comprehensive Library devoted to puppetry, as well as a backstage tour of the Center's seafaring extravaganza, The Little Pirate Mermaid.

Note: This workshop takes place at the Center for Puppetry Arts, approximately two miles from the Georgia Tech campus. Participants must provide their own transportation to and from the Center for Puppetry Arts.
Bio of Workshop Presenter:
On September 23, 1978, Kermit the Frog, accompanied by his creator, Jim Henson, cut the ribbon to officially open the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta. Now in its 30th year, the Center has introduced millions of visitors to the wonder and art of puppetry, and has touched the lives of many through enchanting performances, curriculum-based workshops and the hands-on Museum, as well as Distance Learning and Outreach Programs.
