Spongees

Workshop Presenter:

Bruce Chesse

Description:

The development of "Spongees: From Polyfoam" came out of Puppetry classes I was giving in a Summer Arts program in response to the success of Sesame Street in the 60's. It is a simple process for making foam puppets. Due to the volatility of contact cement I developed a way of building them with the use of a stapler and non toxic glues. Two 90 minute workshops. This workshop will involve building Spongees and conclude with demonstrating a process of "improvising" with puppets and their use in story development as demonstrated in my video "Making and Using Puppets in the Primary Grades"

Materials fee: $1.50
Time/Date: Wednesday, 8:30 a.m to 12 noon
