Finally, a showcase of birthday party puppet shows! If you perform at birthday parties or think you might like to, this workshop is for you. We will watch and critique a few short performances and have a group discussion, moderated by Evy Wright, about business and artistic topics related to performing at parties.
Call for Submissions - Birthday Party Showcase
Calling all birthday party performers! Friday morning is a double-session workshop for birthday party performers past, present, and future. As part of the showcase, we want to (you guessed it) showcase a few performers.
- Do you have something tried and true that you would like to share with others?
- Do you have something new and are looking for feedback or advice?
- Are you new to performing at parties and want to test some material?
The birthday party showcase is looking for you! In addition to a group discussion about everything birthday parties, we will showcase 10 - 15 minute segments from live performances. Please send video, DVD or weblink submissions to:

Please email me questions or online video submissions. If you want feedback on a show but are unable to bring your setup to the festival in Atlanta, please submit anyway. We have a puppet booth that can be used and we may critique some material on video during the showcase. If you do not receive confirmation of your submission, please email to make sure it was received.

Bio of Workshop Presenter:
Evy Wright is the co-founder of Georgia's Curious Moon Puppets and has been performing with puppets for over 15 years. She learned the birthday party business from early mentors Lewis Mahlmann and Randal Metz in Oakland, CA. Evy stole every idea they ever had and fled the state.
