Did It Not Go Thus, gertrude?

Workshop Presenter:

Philip Farah

Description:

This is the title of a 37-minute puppet film produced in 2007 by Philip Farah and directed by Rachel E.B. Griffiths. It was presented at the Rome Film Festival in 2008. The hero is a creation of Philip's named Petraccio (which could be translated into English as "Bad Peter") who speaks for Prince Hamlet. The storyline is based on Shakespeare's Hamlet, but seen from the point of view of the ghost of his father. This forms the basis for the animator's new direction in filming puppets related to the links between the theme, the characters, and the sense of action. The workshop will include the film's screening and the presentation of different aspects of puppets' animation, interpretation and techniques.
