Toy Theater: From My Performance to Your Performance

Description:

Beginning with a short performance, the workshop will illustrate how to make simple puppets, pop-up scenery, and scripts for the toy theatre. Participants will have an opportunity to make simple puppets and/or pop-up scenery and present a short piece. There will be sample theaters, construction ideas, and a variety of puppet designs available.

Bio of Workshop Presenter:

Judith O'Hare, education consultant for the Puppeteers of America and recipient of the PofA Puppetry in Education Award is both a performer and educator. Most recently she became a Kennedy Center teacher trainer and she has performed at the International Toy Theater Festival in NYC. She brings both performance and teaching skills to her workshops and provides a hands-on opportunity to explore the power of Toy theater in education.
