The many challenges of puppet dialogue: using rhythm, making characters distinct, handling exposition, crafting "gestural" lines, shaping dialogue to puppet style - plus, keeping your mouth shut. We'll offer many examples, try re-writing both bad and good stuff, write ten versions of one scene, and much more - a high-energy kick-off.

Bio of Workshop Presenter:
Bishop & Fuller's 30+ plays and countless comedy sketches for both puppets & actors have been staged by their own Independent Eye ensemble, major regional theatres, public radio and Off-Broadway. They have vast experience in workshops for colleges, arts and community groups and are twice recipients of NEA playwriting fellowships.
