potpourri

Potpourri is a puppet festival tradition -- a late night opportunity for festival attendees to perform their own puppet act in five minutes or less.  It's an opportunity for festival-goers to regale their peers with their talent or lack thereof.  The show careens back and forth between “The Gong Show” without the gong and “America’s Got Talent” without Howie Mandel, Ozzy’s wife, and that annoying English guy.

Why is it called Potpourri?  Is it because after sitting too long it loses its appeal?  Because some people find it too strong and offensive?  Come see for yourself in the Student Center Ballroom after the evening performances on Wednesday and Friday.

The 2011 National Festival will feature two nights of Potpourri – Wednesday and Friday.  Instructions for signing-up for Wednesday night's Potpourri are given below.  Sign-up for Friday night's event will take place during the festival in the Festival Office.  Friday night's Potpourri is often a time to poke good-natured fun at some of the week's performances.  You have been warned.

The deadline for submissions to the 2011 National Puppetry Festival Wednesday nigth Potpourri has been extended to April 14th.

To sign-up for Wednesday night's Potpourri, complete the Potpourri Sign-up Form and email or mail it to:
