Using the magic of blacklight, Puppet Art Theater Co. transports the audience deep into an ocean environment where they join Goldilocks the Mermaid under the sea as she looks for adventure and finds nothing but trouble. Fish hooks, crazy clams, silly sea horses, giant octopus, and a family of man-eating sharks! Will Goldilocks escape?  Find out in "Goldilocks and the Three Sharks." Appropriate for ages 4-9.

Puppet Art Theater Company performs hundreds of live performances for family audiences every year. Their shows tour to theaters, festivals, and public events all over California.

Puppet Art Theater Co.’s recent projects include puppeteering for the 1000th episode of “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” featuring Folkmanis Puppets, producing a re-imagined version of “Man of La Mancha” featuring life sized puppets and a cast of twenty five puppeteers and developing the first full length Puppet Apps for the iPhone and iPad (for more information on our Apps go to: http://www.puppetarts.com/cd-dvd.htm).

Puppeteers:

Art Grueneberger, Artistic Director for Puppet Art Theater Co. began his puppet career working with Master Puppeteer Richard Bay. His puppet performance premiere was as lead puppeteer in “A Thousand Cranes,” performed at the 1993 National Puppetry Festival in San Francisco.  

In addition to his puppet work Grueneberger has enjoyed teaching beginning acting students and has co-authored the book The Actor's Lab Book: A Practical Supplement for the Beginning ActorLink.

Grueneberger earned a BA in Liberal Studies and Drama at CSU, Sacramento and an MFA in Theater Arts at University of California, Davis and currently serves as Vice President for the San Francisco Bay Area Puppetry Guild.

Kristen Phillips Gray earned her BA in Theatre Arts from CSU, Sacramento.  While a student there she began working with Puppet Art Theater first as a performer then over the years as a designer and builder for Puppet Art's larger projects including the cast of life-size puppets for “Man of La Mancha” as well as painting the black light scenery for “Goldilocks and the Three Sharks”.  Life has taken her from California to Connecticut where she earned her MFA in Set Design from the University of Connecticut and met her loving husband which eventually led her to living in Michigan.  To see more of her work visit www.kphillipsgray.com   ... that's her website.
