In this comedic adaptation of the classic Washington Irving tale, schoolteacher Ichabod Crane helps the Headless Horseman find a new head and a spookier image. Meanwhile, a jealous Brom Bones tries to run Ichabod out of town while they both vie for the affection of Katrina Van Tassel. "The Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow" is the first show Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers put together back in 2000, and miraculously still contains some of the original cardboard scenery even though crazed unsupervised children have been beating on it for ten years.
Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers is a puppetry troupe based in Bar Harbor, Maine, and comprised of three siblings - Erik Torbeck, Brian Torbeck, and Robin Erlandsen. They began touring professionally in 2000, and chose the name "Frogtown Mountain" in reference to the mountain where they grew up in Pennsylvania. They build their own mouth and rod puppets, and specialize in making large, awkward pieces of scenery with no consideration for the size of their touring van.
