The National Puppetry Festival is an all-volunteer endeavor by an all-volunteer organization. We rely upon volunteers to make the festival operate smoothly.

Volunteers receive:

  • The satisfaction of knowing they have helped create a successful festival

  • Gifts not available to anyone else

  • Chances to win free registration for the 2011 National Puppetry Festival

  • Our gratitude.

There will be an Orientation Session for all festival volunteers on Tuesday, July 14, from 4:15 - 5:15 p.m.

We need volunteers for the following tasks:

  • Selling Traffle tickets

  • Runner in the festival office (8A - 5P, except performance times)

  • Help arrivals with luggage at the dorms and apartments on Tuesday

  • Unload and load shows at the Student Center and Ferst

  • Set up and take down of Traffle, Exhibit, and Puppetry Store

  • Overseeing the Traffle and Exhibit and working in the Puppetry Store

  • After the evening performances, direct folks from the Ferst Center to the Student Center ballroom

  • Check registrants into workshops, collect materials fees

  • Assist with Potpourri and the Puppet Cabaret

  • Usher shows in the ballroom

  • Assist with loading and unloading of busses for the trip to the Center for Puppetry Arts

  • Assist with taking down exhibit

  • Assist with awarding of Traffle items

Contact the Volunteer and Traffle Coordinator, Greg Ruhe, to find out how you can help.
